I’m Shiyao Liu, an educator transitioning into the UX industry. I create engaging, user-centered experiences with creativity and empathy—qualities shaped by my journey as both a teacher and a mother. Teaching taught me how to turn ideas into meaningful experiences and refine them through feedback, a process that now guides my design work. Motherhood, in turn, has deepened my empathy and resilience, which I carry into every project I take on.

I recently completed an industry project with Savi Finance, where I designed more intuitive and flexible AI-powered interfaces to help users achieve their financial goals. This experience reinforced my passion for creating products that are not only functional, but also meaningful and enjoyable to use.

Beyond design, I find inspiration in Chinese dance, which I’ve practiced since the age of three. Over 30 years later, it remains a lifelong journey of growth, creativity, and resilience—values that fuel the energy I bring into my work as a designer.
